Rashmi Jawahar Ganesh is the Project Coordinator for the Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa (EELA) Programme at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Based in Vienna, she coordinates the implementation of multi-country energy efficiency programmes across the SADC, EAC, and ECOWAS regions, working in close collaboration with SACREEE, EACREEE, and ECREEE to strengthen enabling policies, accelerate market transformation, and expand private sector participation in energy-efficient lighting, appliances, and industrial equipment.

Rashmi brings over a decade of international experience advancing climate adaptation, clean energy transitions, and sustainable industrial development across Africa and Asia. She has contributed to the design and mobilization of more than USD 150 million in climate finance, with a strong track record in programme architecture, results-based management, institutional coordination, and regional partnership facilitation. Her work integrates gender-responsive and inclusive approaches, ensuring that energy efficiency contributes to improved livelihoods, skills development, and resilient local economies.

She holds an MSc in Energy and Transport Management and a graduate certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy from Yale University, and is committed to advancing equitable, community-centered and just transitions across the Global South.
