The EELA Kenya Country Window is a transformative initiative designed to foster inclusive and sustainable economic growth through integrated energy efficiency (EE) strategies, solutions and equipment. The project focuses on accelerating the adoption of energy efficient appliances, promoting investments in the low-carbon transformation of the industrial sector, and enhancing skills for repair, maintenance, and end-of-life treatment of energy-efficient equipment.
This initiative supports the implementation of Kenya's National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (NEECS) 2020, aligning with the country's ambitious goals of achieving universal energy access and transitioning to 100% renewable energy by 2030. Within the strategy, energy efficiency (EE) is recognized as one of the most cost-effective solutions for reducing energy demand, improving access to energy, and making energy more affordable in Kenya's industrial and residential sectors.
Why the EELA Zambia Country Window Matters:
EELA interventions focus on accelerating the adoption of high-quality energy-efficient products, services, and industrial equipment to achieve multiple benefits. By reducing energy costs for households and businesses, the project not only enhances affordability but also strengthens the competitiveness of industries while minimizing their carbon footprint.
