Empowering Change: Women Shaping South Africa’s Energy‑Efficiency Future
For its International Women’s Day 2026 campaign, UNIDO has published the story of Ashanti Mbanga, Project Manager for Energy and Environment at the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI). Her experience highlights the leadership of women in advancing Africa’s sustainable energy transition, as well as how targeted support initiatives such as EELA can open new pathways for women professionals, strengthening their role as key actors in energy efficiency and clean‑energy innovation.
