The EELA Program will take part in “Crossing the Cold. A Sunrise Swim Across the Lake”, a symbolic event organized by The Adaptation Exchange during Climate Week Zurich, taking place on 7 May 2026 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Crossing the Cold brings together representatives from business, policy, and international organizations for a sunrise swim across Lake Zurich, using the physical experience of cold water immersion as a powerful metaphor for the urgency and depth of climate adaptation. By participating, EELA highlights the importance of strengthening industrial resilience and accelerating practical adaptation solutions in climate‑vulnerable contexts.

Climate Week Zurich is Europe’s leading business‑driven climate platform, convening hundreds of events and partners from across sectors to showcase concrete climate action. Within its programme, The Adaptation Exchange serves as a new cross‑sector collaboration platform focused on turning adaptation strategies into actionable solutions across industries, value chains, and financial systems. The initiative is officially launching at Climate Week Zurich 2026, with UNIDO as its first participating international organization.

UNIDO will be represented at the event by Rashmi Jawar, EELA Project Coordinator, who will share UNIDO’s perspective on climate adaptation and industrial resilience. Through its contribution, UNIDO will emphasise how adaptation is essential to safeguarding jobs, maintaining industrial productivity, and ensuring that industrial development remains inclusive and sustainable as climate risks intensify.
